Temporary Studio Closure
DESPERATE TIMES CALL FOR DESPERATE MEASURES
After much deliberation I have decided to close Hot Yoga West temporarily. This will take effect Monday 23 March 2020. The rapid rise of Covid-19 to global pandemic is unprecedented and scary. I want to ensure the health and safety of all my staff and students and feel that taking a break is the only way to do this.Thank you to everyone involved for your unwavering support during this difficult time.
One of the great things I love about my job is that I feel that it makes a positive impact on people’s lives. It is an absolute privilege and honour helping people to be the best version of themselves through yoga. We have created an amazing yoga community coming together for ourselves and each other. Breaking down barriers to forge a solid foundation of connectedness. This has been one of the hardest decisions I have ever made. I know how powerfully healing yoga can be and it is just the tonic for the crazy times that we are living in. The last few days I have struggled with this dilemma as I have not felt 100% comfortable with the situation. I want to be part of the solution, not part of the problem. We have to work together to flatten the curve for all those around us that are vulnerable to this virus.
I try to align my actions from a clear and heart centred space so I can be true and authentic to myself. At this moment in time this is the right thing to do.
I am incredibly sad and there is a heaviness in my heart. Because I know that so many of you feel that Hot Yoga West is your second home. A warm, safe comfortable place that you can come to for yoga, community, laughter, friendship and kindness.
We must accept the current situation as it is and learn to meet it adapting ourselves for this time. Embrace the impermanence of everything. We will still be able to connect and interact with each other. Not face to face but through a virtual platform. Details coming soon. If you have the means to support the studio by keeping your current autopay membership running we would appreciate it a lot. Your generosity will make all the difference to ensure that we can return to serve the community after this is all over. As a small business we want to be here for you during and after the pandemic. We will extend the time period on any existing memberships to account for the temporary closure.
We will offer you classes online and a chance to get together virtually to maintain connection with social distance. My hope is that this beautiful and diverse community will continue to thrive and evolve in the new world. Let’s work together to stand up and show how resilient and strong we can be in times of adversity. I hope that we emerge and be part of a positive shift to look after the planet and find caring for the people on it. Union rather than division. For now make sure you are on our mailing list and following us on social media to keep up with the latest happenings.
Stay safe and we look forward to seeing on the other side of the new normal.
